After about a week of inactivity (as far as viewers for the blog), I received an e-mail from both Joe Coastie at CGBlog.org and John Willis at Coast Guard News as well as a post by Peter Stinson on CGBlog.org tagging this blog as "the first deckplate blog". You are all far too generous and thank you for welcoming me into the Coast Guard blogosphere.
